THE ROUTE ON THE WEB
This list offers those walking routes pages that I have found on the internet in which our Castronuño route is included. You will find more information in these pages:
- The "Duero route" called "Gran Recorrido" (GR) ("long route" in English), called "GR-14" passes by Castronuño and Toro. In this link you have all necessary information to know where it begins and ends. It goes by the whole "Duero" river.
- On this page you have the "13 section" of the whole route (it is almost 900 kms -the Duero river-), and it goes by the section since "Torrecilla de la Abadesa" to "Toro". On this link you will read this paragraph: "Once you arrive at the train line, which we must cross to reach a sandy path to go to the "San José" dam and cross the Duero river to get its left margin. After crossing this dam, we keep going on by the local road, but, very soon we will find on our right a sandy path through which we must keep going on; this path goes nearby the "San José" irrigation channel passing by the "Vega de Requejo" and "Téjar", where we must turn to our left by the sandy land which drives us to the village called "Villafranca de Duero".
- The "Castilian Mountain Federation" gives us a shorter section of this route.
