FISHING PRESERVE

Fishing Spanish and Castilian championships take place in Castronuño, just in the points you see.

 Fishing points are set up on the opposite shore of the village. The photo down on the right has been taken from this opposite shore, and the school and the church of the village can be seen on the top of Castronuño cliff. The photo on the left shows one of the fishing spots.

In addition, unofficial social events also take place such as junior and senior competitions, but you can enjoy the rest of the days, since the access is free to all fishermen.

Fishing without Death is The fishing modality. It is the obliged practice of Fishing with Cane –either in depth or with float. Also known as "capture and loose", in the fishing without death the conventional cane is utilized, along with the leads and corresponding feathers-buoys and the adequate hook. All the captured fish are returned alive to the water, without forgetting that the hook should be a “hook without death” with which, by its special making, it is lost with greater facility.

Besides, you will find a fishermen shelter with a pic-nic area. On the pictures down here, this part of the "Senda de los Almendros" route is showed.
