BICYCLES

The "La Senda de los Almendros" route is the nicest and most well known one. From the village to the "San José" reservoir you must walk along the river path and, once you have reached the dam and you have crossed the bridge, you must turn right to keep walking by the opposite shore addresing you to the next brigde, which you must cross again. This way, you will make a 6 miles circle. It might take you about two hours. You will find along your way fishing points where national and international fishing championships have taken place.

There is another route if you keep on the "San Román" road. This time you will turn your left instead your right after crossing the bridge of the "San José" dam and go on ahead the road to the village of San Román. Both sides on the road you will find vineyards and cornfields. Welcome! Because you have just come in to the "Denominación de Origen" (Castilian official brandname) Toro. Many wineries are making their wines with the main grape variety "Tinta de Toro". This route lasts about 17 miles (28 kms). My brother Esteban and I we used to do. After, you get home, take a shower, try our cheesecake, and you will sleep like angels.
